As a woman, being a wife, a mom and an athlete, it can be tough focusing on my health and self-care. Having a background in bodybuilding and intense athletics over my lifetime, I have learned how important nutrition is for your health and overall wellbeing. Protein is an essential macronutrient that our bodies need to recover from the long days of “mommy-ing” and running around with a toddler.
Not only is the Protea Nutrition protein delicious, but my 18-month-old loves when I make my shakes as well! It is a clean and healthy way for me and my baby to get in some natural vitamins and minerals all while nourishing our bodies with some yummy protein.
Time management is one of the most important things to grab a hold of as a parent. I’ve learned, over the years, how to organize my time to sleep, meal prep, and workout all while working and maintaining relationships simultaneously. So, staying fit and active along with keeping myself and my son healthy is an extreme version of time management.
I have definitely noticed that my son always wants to do what mama does or eat what mama is eating so I know I have to keep up a positive influence to show him how to take care of himself, too. The Protea shakes come in handy when I just don’t have the time or the energy to prep and cook a meal from scratch. The simplicity of plugging in the blender, adding my ingredients and blending up a nice, healthy shake is just something you cannot beat!
As far as time management goes for working out, it’s not always easy working out and focusing on your movements when you have a toddler running around. I try to take the time when he naps to clean, organize and get a quick workout in for my own sanity. I’ll often do one or two workout movements while he’s awake so he can see that mama is strong. The important thing here is to find a routine that works for you and your family. Consistency is the key. Let your children motivate you!
