In the United States, an estimated 12% or more will develop a thyroid condition during their lifetime. One in eight women will develop a thyroid condition. Currently, 20 million Americans have some form of thyroid disease which sixty percent of those with thyroid disease being unaware they even have issues (1)

They thyroid gland is a butterfly shaped gland in the middle of the lower neck. It’s a hormone producing gland that regulates the body’s metabolism. Metabolism is the chemical process that converts food and oxygen into usable energy. When the thyroid is stressed – through various factors – it can decrease it’s production of thyroid hormone which shows up as a variety of symptoms in the body.

Symptoms that your thyroid may not be functioning optimally are (2)

–       Fatigue

–       Weight gain

–       Constipation

–       Depression

–       Brain fog or decreased cognitive function

–       Cold intolerance

–       Muscle pain and weakness

–       Dry and scaly skin

–       Low libido

–       Brittle hair and nails

–       Irregular or heavy periods

Because these symptoms can also stem from other conditions and ailments, it can be hard to pinpoint the thyroid as the cause of these issues.

This is why you will need a thyroid function test to confirm hypothyroid or slow thyroid. The two main factor thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and thyroxine (T4). This is done through a blood test.

A high TSH level with a low T4 level could indicate under-active thyroid. Depending on the severity of these markers, you may or may not be diagnosed as hypothyroid. This will also determine if thyroid hormone replacement therapy is needed. Yes, lifestyle habits can help, but if the thyroid is severely impacted, it may need some help to restore order in the body.

Protea Nutrition Opti-Thyroid+
“I cannot say enough good things about this product! I have been struggling with chronic fatigue and a slew of other symptoms for YEARS. I have done lab work after lab work, seen multiple doctors, specialists, holistic doctors, you name it and for some reason we couldn’t figure out what was causing my symptoms. I was always told that my thyroid was ‘low’ but still considered in the ‘normal’ range. Over the last few months I feel like my symptoms got worse and to a point where I was so fatigued I could barely function. I was at my wits end and decided to try this supplement. I am SO glad I did. This has been a total game changer for me. It has given me my life back and I am SO grateful. To Amber and the entire team at Protea, I am eternally grateful for this amazing product. For anyone with any type of thyroid issues, I encourage you to try this- you won’t be disappointed. Also, I just got bloodwork done again yesterday and there was a DRASTIC improvement in my numbers- I haven’t even been using this product for a full month. 10/10 RECOMMEND!”

However, if the TSH is high, but T4 is normal, this may indicate that you could develop hypothyroidism in the future if steps are not taken to restore thyroid health.  These include dietary changes, exercise, stress management, and supplementation. Opti-thyroid+ was designed for exactly this reason.

For those that are experiencing the unfavorable symptoms of a taxed thyroid, Opti-Thryoid+ may be a good fit. Opti-Thyroid+ is a dynamic formula for a healthy thyroid gland and metabolism featuring a unique blend that optimizes thyroid secretions for an efficient metabolic response.
